Our process

Visual Inspection

We perform technologically advanced inspections with moisture meters and infrared cameras to determine the source. Where we find mold, we find moisture. By locating the source of moisture and identifying hidden water intrusion sources we can focus our mold investigation in the right areas. If there is evidence of moisture intrusion, we take samples to further assess the damage.

Sample and analysis

We perform fungal air samples (spore traps) or surface samples (swabs, tape and bulk) and always take a baseline outdoor sample to use as a control. These samples are analyzed by third party AIHA accredited laboratory and we provide you with a detailed analysis of laboratory findings with a recommended action plan.

No conflict of interest

We don't perform mold remediation, repair, or construction. We have no interest in the outcome of our inspections other than to ensure you have the information needed to return your home or office to a healthy state. Our expertise guides us and we never have a conflict of interest with regard to our findings and recommendations. We use a science-based approach and do only inspections and testing, never remediation.

Why is mold inspection and testing so important?

Mold symptoms, particularly "black mold" symptoms, are dangerous, and can even be life threatening. If you or anyone in your household is already ill or suffers from an autoimmune disease, you’re at a higher risk of dangerous symptoms of mold exposure.Symptoms of mold exposure can be as mild as allergies, skin rashes, and common cold symptoms. Toxic "black mold" symptoms can include serious respiratory problems and infections, asthma complications, chronic headaches, fatigue, dangerous neurological problems and toxic mold syndrome.

Mold growth occurs in areas that are damp and warm. This means that mold might grow in areas of your home that aren’t immediately visible, such as behind walls or wallpaper, behind or underneath plumbing fixtures, in flooring or ceiling tiles, and behind or underneath appliances. Water damage and mold growth can cause problems with wooden structures, insulation, and electrical wiring in your home. A mold inspection and mold remediation will reduce or prevent serious structural damage.

"Cosmetic mold" refers to mold genera or species which are unlikely to be a health hazard nor to cause damage to the building structure. "Allergenic mold" is not normally dangerous in small quantities, but can be a problem for people who are particularly allergic to mold or who have asthma. In large quantities it is more likely to be a problem for these individuals. Toxic mold can present serious health risk to humans or animals by producing or containing chemical poisons. Mold is naturally occurring throughout indoor and outdoor environments, however, when spore levels of harmful molds are exacerbated they pose serious health risks.
